Two New Mexico teens paid the price for what authorities are calling reckless driving. An 18 year old New Mexico driver of a black pickup truck was traveling on New Mexico Hwy. 314 when the vehicle left the road and lost control. Initial reports suggested that speed was an issue in the New Mexico rollover accident and authorities were considering citations of reckless or careless driving. Although it is unlikely that the driver would have a viable claim for injuries in the event he was liable for the accident. However, the Los Lunas accident also involved a 14-year-old passenger who was injured. Even in single vehicle accidents, a passenger may have a viable claim against any negligent driver.
Although injuries could have been far worse, early reports suggest that both the driver and passenger were conscious at the scene and transported to University of New Mexico Hospital.
